Feeling Better & Weekend Treasure...

After several days off from work, I am feeling *almost* back to normal.  I woke up feeling pretty well, so I decided to go out for my morning run for the first time in six days.  I went about a mile and hit the wall, so I guess it will take time to build my energy level back up.

The Old Hippie came home with some really cool salvage finds this weekend.

I LOVE this old iron stand!  I can see this all cleaned up with a ceramic platter or some mosaic piece on top to be used as a bird feeder maybe... maybe a plant stand in the garden?

The Old Hippie really scored some major points with this old cauldron!  One leg is broken off about an inch, but I can work with this.

My guess is that this is an old doctor's office or lab table.  Not a scratch on it!  All it needs is a set of casters for the legs and it is ready for use in the garage... or planting shed... or craft room... who knows!

Okay, I'm not sure what this is...

The base is wrought iron and will clean up nicely.  Any ideas?

Tomorrow's post will be the promised tutorial on resin incense...

Thank you for your comments.  They are the light of my day!

Peace, love & happiness,
Earth Mother...

That stand and the cauldron is fantastic! If I had found them I would clean them up, fix a new leg on the cauldron and paint them (well I work as a painter :-) ) black! Perhaps I would put a lantern on top of that stand.

But the last thing, do those parts belong together? The base looks so old and doesn´t really look as if it belonged with the white pole :-)

Great findings!
Have a great day now!
Christer.
P:S: I´m glad You feel better!

Hi Chris, hope you are geting your strengh back and feeling better than the weekend. The Old Hippie did pretty good with the salvage finds. I liked the old wrought iron base. It might be heavy enough to support a nice table top - ceramic or metal perhaps. The cauldron will make a nice big planter- herbs come to mind for me.

You should hang it like mine, check back for my pictures. I have one on facebook too of my cauldron! I used 3 metal poles, and some chain! won't matter if the leg is missing or not!

Lovely finds the Old Hippy brought back. I have been searching for an old cauldron. Theres just something mystical about old.

Maybe the last item is a stand for an umbrella to go over an outdoor table. I have one that looks similar to that. However I bought a gazebo this past year and have no use for it anymore until I find myself another outdoor set.

Glad your feeling better. Take it easy on yourself though. I couldn't run a mile on the best of days let alone coming off of being sick. Blessing Abound~

Hi Christer! I don't think that white pole is an original part of that nice iron base either. The plastic must go! I think a lantern on the iron stand would be a great idea!

Have a great day!

Thanks for your well wishes! I LOVE the Old Hippie! He always finds the BEST stuff to re-purpose. I think herbs will go in the cauldron... i'm thinking some oregano to flow over the sides.

Take care,
Chris.......

Hi Judith! The Old Hippie is trying to come up with idea to hang it, but it only has two loops, not three, for some reason. We have a several old wagon wheel rims that could be used as a hanger, but I think that would require welding.... I'll be sure and post pics when we get it all done. I will check out the pics of your cauldron!

Peace,
Chris..............
